Our socks and tights are made from a blend of merino wool and other fibres, with merino content typically ranging from 48% to 70% depending on the style and design.
We use high quality merino yarns across all of our products. The variation you may notice in merino percentages comes down to how different manufacturers measure composition. Some calculate it based on the yarn before the sock is made, while others measure the finished product once it has been knitted and includes reinforcing and stretch fibres. Because of this, post production measurements can show a lower merino percentage, even though the yarn itself and the quality remain the same.
We focus on getting the right balance of warmth, softness and durability in every pair. Elastane helps the socks hold their shape and stay up, while nylon adds strength for everyday wear.
If you would like the exact composition for a specific product, please feel free to email us at info@lamingtonsocks.com and we are happy to help.

Lamington tights have always been manufactured in New Zealand and remain an important part of our brand story.
When our long standing manufacturing partner closed, there were no remaining facilities in Australasia able to produce tights to the standard we require. To continue offering this product, we made the considered decision to move production and clearly separate this range under our Mosey label.
We have since partnered with a carefully selected factory in China that aligns with our values and quality expectations. Mosey tights continue to be made using merino wool, with the same focus on comfort, fit and durability.
This transition has also allowed us to introduce a beautiful organic cotton option into the range.
We have worked closely with this factory to ensure the same feel and finish you know from our brand, so you can shop with confidence.
Mosey products will also gain you points under the Love Lamington Rewards System.

Babies come in all shapes and sizes. Our sizes are a guideline only and are not a one size fits all. To ensure your socks are not too tight on your infant always place a finger between your baby’s skin and the band of the sock to make sure the items are not restrictive. If you think they are too firm either scrunch the sock down, fold over the cuff, or go to the next size up. Alternatively use our Crew length socks which sit lower on the leg. Our knee high socks are designed to be worn below the knee.

Very occasionally a product may develop a manufacturer's fault, and we will do everything we can to resolve this situation to your satisfaction. We will happily meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act if any of our products are faulty in some way. Please contact us immediately.

If you’ve purchased multiple pairs of socks and are unsure about sizing or fit, we recommend opening one pair first to try.
We find that after a few washes and wears, the socks tend to relax and settle into their intended size and feel, so this first try can give a good indication of fit over time.
If the first pair still doesn’t feel quite right, we’re happy to accept a return and provide a refund for that opened pair in line with our returns policy. We can also accept returns on any remaining unopened pairs within 30 days of receiving your order.
This approach allows you to properly test the fit while keeping the rest of your order eligible for return if needed.
Â
Over more than 20 years, we have built a strong and trusted reputation for quality, and we stand behind the products we make.
Our socks are made using a merino wool blend, chosen for its softness, comfort and breathability. As a natural fibre, merino is not as hard wearing as fully synthetic materials, and over time some signs of wear are expected, particularly with regular use.
The lifespan of socks can vary depending on how often they are worn, how they are cared for, and the conditions they are used in. Factors such as friction, footwear, and general wear are outside of our control and will naturally impact longevity. Areas such as the heel and toe will wear faster over time.
We recommend gentle washing and taking care to avoid rough surfaces or snagging to help extend the life of your socks.
While we are always happy to review any concerns, socks that have been worn regularly over an extended period of time would generally be considered to have reached a normal lifespan rather than a fault, and would not be eligible for a replacement.
That said, if you have any concerns, please do get in touch. We are always happy to review and assist where we can.
Â
Pilling is caused by friction, the rubbing against another fabric or surface. To reduce pilling, we recommend washing inside out in a laundry bag. Pilling will increase when worn to bed and with crawling age infants. The feedback we have received is to turn socks inside out for bed or have a pair specifically for sleeping.

We aim to respond to every email we receive, so if you haven't heard back from us within 48 hours, something has likely gone wrong on our end. Please know we would never intentionally ignore a customer message.
The most common reason for this is that your email has been filtered into our junk or spam folder before we could see it. This can happen with certain email providers, and unfortunately it's something we aren't always able to prevent.
If you haven't heard back, please call us on (+64)09 320 4234
